The Future Homes Standard is a new energy-performance standard for homes built in England. It requires new homes to use low-carbon heating and achieve high levels of energy efficiency.

Homes built to the standard should not require further energy-efficiency retrofits to become zero carbon in use once the electricity grid has been fully decarbonised.
